When a lot of people think of yoga, they have the image of long,
lean, perfectly toned folks peacefully putting themselves in
seemingly impossible poses.
Desirée Rumbaugh wants to change that perception. The Chandler
resident, who tours the world teaching yoga, wants people to
know the discipline can be beneficial to them, and is taking
that message to the marketplace with a DVD. See full article

feet.

students around the world the therapeutic benefits of yoga. Her
acclaimed Yoga to the Rescue DVD offers a gentle yoga practice
for beginners and pain sufferers, even if you haven't exercised
in years or thought you were too inflexible or out of shape.
Absolute beginners and continuing yoga students alike will
benefit from these simple yet effective exercises which show the
therapeutic benefits of yoga and address neck pain, tight
shoulders, wrist strength, back pain, core strength, aching
feet, and more.

MESA, Ariz. (Map, News) - Don't tell Desiree Rumbaugh that yoga
is a passé fitness fad. For this former housewife and part-time
parks-and-recreation instructor, yoga is a practice that's toned
her body, expanded her mind, developed her spiritual side and
brought her a life unlike anything she ever imagined.

On newsstands now!
I first met Desiree Rumbaugh in
2002 when a few friends and I went to Big Fork, Montana
on a yoga adventure.
Her theme for the workshop was “How to live in bliss (Samadhi)
most of the time,” and the theme of the first night was “Hip
openers: We are not in control, but we are in charge.” I wanted
to test out what Des has talked about (and lived) - that yoga
can change your experience of life through changing the body and
therefore the mind. Here are the notes from my experiment.

over heels for yoga (AFP). June 7, 2007
HONG KONG - A 5,000-year-old tradition rooted in meditation
might not seem the obvious leisure activity for Hong Kong’s
high-octane big-spending population, but in the past five years
yoga has taken the city by storm.
